Common questions

I paid for Plus but it isn't unlocked

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases on the Plus screen. That re-checks your Apple Account for an existing subscription. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the Apple Account you purchased with and we'll sort it out.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so they're cancelled in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting your Rise & Pray account does not cancel a subscription — the two are separate.

Can I hear my own written prayers read aloud?

Not yet. The recorded voices cover the daily prayers and Life Season devotionals. Prayers you write yourself are shown as text only, because a synthetic voice next to the recorded ones sounds jarring. We'd rather add it properly than add it badly.

Something on the Community board is offensive

Tap the menu on the post and choose Report. It disappears from your board straight away and is reviewed within 24 hours. You can also block the author from the same menu, which hides everything they post from you permanently.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete Account. It permanently removes your journal, your written prayers, your community posts, and your streak. It can't be undone, and it doesn't cancel a paid subscription.

My reminders aren't arriving

Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Rise & Pray → Notifications, and that the reminder is switched on in the app's own Settings. Reminders are scheduled on your device, so they work without a connection.

Will my journal sync to a new phone?

Only if you sign in. Go to Settings → Account → Sign in with Apple, and your journal, written prayers and streak become recoverable on any device you sign into.

Signing in asks Apple for nothing but an identifier — no name, no email, not even a relay address. Until you do it, everything you've written lives only on that one phone.

Privacy

Rise & Pray asks for no name, email, or phone number, shows no ads, and runs no analytics. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
